Surrender to Spain: The Wild Heart of Menorca

Your invitation to wander, taste, swim and surrender on my favourite Spanish island.

Our signature experience, fully escorted by Casey Merwood, shared with just 10 women.

This is Menorca – Biznaga style.

Warm turquoise water. Wild olive trees and ancient stone. Long tables, open fires and more stars than you thought possible.

This is not a week of rushing between sights. It is an invitation to step inside the rhythm of our favourite Spanish island. To swim, wander, gather, taste, learn and reconnect with the part of yourself that comes alive when there is space to wonder.

Over eight beautifully unhurried days, we’ll make a private finca our home. We’ll forage for wild botanicals with a master herbalist, sail to hidden coves aboard a traditional Menorcan llaüt and snorkel through protected waters with a marine biologist. We’ll practise yoga beside the Mediterranean, dine around an open fire and look deep into the universe beneath one of its clearest skies.

There will be discovery, but never hurry. Abundant food, but no formality. Quiet luxury, genuine warmth and time that is truly your own.

This is Menorca at its wildest, most generous and most magical.

And this is your invitation to surrender.

The Three Experiences That Define This Journey

Our Sanctuary in Menorca

For the week, we’ll make Es Bec D’Aguila entirely our own. A magnificent traditional finca hidden within sixty hectares of rugged Menorcan countryside.

This is island living at its most generous: beautiful rooms, exceptional food, thoughtful details and a wonderful team devoted to making every moment feel effortless. Days unfold around the pool, beneath the olive trees and over abundant tables filled with the best of the island.

More than somewhere to stay, Es Bec is our private sanctuary, a place of warmth, beauty and understated luxury that will feel like home from the moment we arrive.

Into Menorca’s Wild Magic

We’ll experience the island through its oldest elements: earth, fire and stars.

With a master herbalist, we’ll gather wildflowers and medicinal plants before transforming our finds into botanical preparations. We’ll gather around the flames for a rustic feast cooked in the traditional Menorcan way. Beneath one of the clearest skies in the Mediterranean, a Starlight astronomical guide will lead us through constellations, mythology and distant galaxies. We’ll hike to a private cove for a slow flow yoga class on the sand.

Three ways into an island still profoundly connected to the natural world.

The Living Blue

Menorca’s sea isn’t simply something to admire, it is a world we’ll step into.

We’ll spend a blissful day aboard a traditional llaüt, drifting between hidden coves, swimming in warm turquoise water and lingering over lunch on the waves. Then, accompanied by a marine biologist, we’ll snorkel through the protected waters of Menorca’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and meet the colourful life beneath its crystal-clear surface.

Unhurried, sun-soaked and filled with wonder, this is the Mediterranean as you have always imagined it.

Find out all about Es Bec D'Aguila

Set within sixty hectares of rugged Menorcan countryside, Es Bec d’Àguila feels like a private world of its own. Surrounded by wild olive trees, sun-baked earth and ancient stone walls, this magnificent 19th-century finca has been beautifully restored, preserving its rustic soul while offering quiet, understated comfort.

For the week, Es Bec is entirely ours. Soaring ceilings, handcrafted tiles and beautifully individual rooms give way to quiet libraries, shaded terraces, a green marble bar and long tables made for lingering. Outside, a spectacular pool stretches towards the wild landscape, while hidden reading nooks, a yoga studio, ceramic workshop, pétanque court and treehouse invite you to explore, or disappear for a while.

Each woman has her own suite, with her own bathroom, and no two are quite the same. Some open onto the terrace, others sit tucked beneath old stone archways or catch the last light through shuttered windows. The bathrooms follow the same spirit, some with a deep bath to sink into, others with a walk in shower, a few with both. Whichever room becomes yours for the week, it is somewhere to properly close the door, sink into your own space and feel completely looked after.

Everything is included and every detail is taken care of. The food is exceptional: abundant, seasonal and deeply connected to the island, served with a warmth and generosity that makes every meal feel like a celebration. Es Bec’s wonderful team brings the finca to life, anticipating what you need before you realise you need it and making the whole week feel effortless.

This is more than somewhere beautiful to stay. It is our home, our sanctuary and the heart of the journey, a place to exhale, gather and experience Menorcan hospitality at its most magical.

The Full Itinerary

Day 1 – Sunday 20 June:  Surrender to the Wild Heart of Menorca …

Your private driver will meet you at Menorca Airport and carry you through the island’s rugged countryside to Es Bec d’Àguila, our private home for the week.

From the moment you arrive, Es Bec is yours to settle into. Take a breath, put down your bags and let the pace of the outside world begin to fall away.

We’ll gather for a special welcome ceremony to ground ourselves, reconnect and get to know one another more deeply as we open the door to the journey ahead. You’ll receive your journal, a place to capture discoveries, reflections and the small moments of magic that unfold along the way.

As the light softens across the finca, we’ll ease into the evening over aperitivo before gathering around the table to dine beneath the stars. A warm, unhurried beginning designed to make you feel deeply welcomed and completely at home.

Meals:  Dinner

Day 2 – Monday 21 June – Wild Botanicals and Mid-Summer Rituals …

We begin our exploration by opening the door to Menorca’s ancient botanical wisdom.

Guided by a master herbalist and keeper of the island’s plant traditions, we’ll wander through the countryside gathering seasonal flowers and herbs, uncovering their properties, stories and traditional uses. With what we collect, we’ll create our own wild botanical preparations to carry home.

Along the way, we’ll explore the rituals and symbolism of Midsummer, a celebration of sunlight, renewal and the healing power of plants.

The afternoon is yours to enjoy. Disappear into a book, slip into the pool, wander around the finca or meet Es Bec’s resident donkey and chickens. If the coast calls, venture to a nearby cala for warm water and sun-soaked rocks.

No schedule. Nowhere else to be. Just time to settle into the island.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 3 – Tuesday 21 June:  Earth Below, Stars Above

We’ll set out for a gentle walk to one of Menorca’s hidden coastal corners, where our yoga practice awaits beside the Mediterranean.

Surrounded by open sky and endless blue, we’ll move, breathe and settle into the rhythm of the island. Afterwards, we’ll share a relaxed picnic breakfast before making our way into the warm turquoise water for a long, easy swim.

As darkness falls, another Menorca reveals itself.

Led by a Starlight astronomical guide, we’ll walk through the wild landscape as our senses awaken to the night. We’ll discover the ancient geology beneath our feet and learn to read the sky above, finding constellations, tracing their myths and uncovering the mysteries they hold.

Then we’ll turn to the telescopes and travel deeper, gazing at distant planets, stars, nebulae and galaxies. A night to feel the vastness of the universe, the wonder of our tiny blue planet and the quiet magic of standing beneath it all.

Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 4 – Wednesday 23 June: Carried by Sea, Gathered By Fire

Today we trade the land for the sea, stepping aboard a traditional Menorcan llaüt that has carried fishermen and dreamers along these shores for generations.

Out here, time softens. Hidden coves appear like secret rooms, their turquoise water inviting us in for a swim. The sun warms our shoulders, salt lingers on our skin and lunch is shared on the waves. By the afternoon, we’ll be sun-kissed, windswept and wonderfully unhurried.

As evening approaches, we’ll enter a private finca hidden among wild olive trees. Our experience begins with a sensory walk through the estate, following the scents of earth and woodsmoke while sharing small bites and sips along the way.

The evening culminates in a rustic, hands-on feast prepared in the traditional Menorcan way over an open fire. Every ingredient comes from the island, from the farmers, fishermen, cheesemakers, beekeepers and artisans who call it home.

A soulful celebration of the land, its people and the simple magic of gathering around the flames.

Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5 – Thursday 24 June:  The Map Within …

Imagine being handed a map of yourself, one that illuminates the patterns, gifts and inner knowing that have been there all along. Today, that map is yours to discover through the lens of Human Design.

Human Design is part map, part mirror: a layered system revealing the energetic blueprint that makes each of us unique. We’ll explore how we move through life, make decisions, connect with others and use our energy with greater ease. Each person will also receive an individual reading, bringing their own design vividly to life.

The experience can be surprising, expansive and deeply validating, giving language to truths you may have always felt but never fully understood. This isn’t about becoming someone new, but remembering who you have always been.

The afternoon belongs entirely to you. Claim a shaded daybed, sink into a long swim or return to your Human Design reading. Explore your chart, add to your journal or allow the morning’s discoveries to unfold through reflection and conversation.

Choose company or solitude, curiosity or stillness. Follow the island’s rhythm.

Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6 – Friday 25 June:  Between Sea & Sky

We’ll set sail along Menorca’s wild southern coast, drifting past hidden coves, limestone cliffs and water in every shade of blue.

Accompanied by a marine biologist and local guide, we’ll pause at pristine beaches to swim and snorkel at our own pace. Beneath the warm, crystal-clear water, a hidden world appears, colourful fish, swaying sea plants and tiny marine creatures moving below.

There will be time to float, explore and settle into the quiet magic of Menorca’s living blue.

As the sun begins to fall, we’ll step inside one of the island’s most striking settings: a labyrinth of open-air caves carved high into the cliffs above the sea.

From our private corner, we’ll sip drinks as the sun melts into the horizon and music drifts through the caves. A night suspended between rock, sea and sky, wild, beautiful and unmistakably magical.

Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 7 – Saturday 26 June:  Surrender to Slow …

We’ll begin our final full day with yoga at the finca, a gentle practice to stretch, breathe and let the week settle into our bodies.

The rest of the day is yours to savour. Enjoy a massage, linger by the pool, find a sunny corner with a book or simply do nothing at all. There is nowhere to be and nothing to achieve, only space to rest, reflect and enjoy the easy company around you.

As evening falls, we’ll gather for something special. The details will remain under wraps for now, but you can expect a beautiful dinner, music, laughter and a final celebration of everything we have shared.

A soft, soulful ending to the week.

Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 8 – Sunday 27 June:  Carrying The Island Home …

After one final breakfast together, it will be time to say hasta luego to Es Bec and the island that has held us so beautifully.

Your private driver will transfer you to Menorca Airport for your onward journey. You’ll leave with your handmade preparations, your journal, new friendships and a little of Menorca’s wild magic carried home within you.

    Past Trip Highlights

“I signed up for the Surrender to Spain 2025 trip for something different to try as a solo female wanting to try something new. This was the best decision I could have made! From the beginning Casey was open and approachable with all my worries including joining a group trip being in my mid 40’s and worrying about “everyone being older”. I need not have worried.

This isn’t your everyday tour, it’s an experience! Beautiful accommodation, amazing experiences off the tourist path, the highest quality yet comfortable and fun. Such a wonderful opportunity to enjoy parts of Spain with authentic experiences, learning new things and oh so many laughs along the way. Thank you!”

    Sarah Webb

    Surrender to Spain, 2025

“In Biznaga, Casey combines her deep industry expertise – local knowledge, trusted connections – with her personal charm, energy and vibrancy to offer something that is quite unique and in my view, streets ahead of anyone else in the industry.

Her trips are perfectly curated – just the right balance of activity and downtime, just enough ‘sightseeing’ interspersed with experiences that are so far removed from ‘tourism’ as to be almost unrecognizable.

Unscripted, genuine engagement with real people who are just going about their family business with flair and passion makes for a day out with Casey that is just like spending time with a friend of a friend – warm, welcoming, authentic and deeply satisfying.

If you are inherently curious by nature and want to learn how Spanish culture and traditions are practiced in everyday life by real Spanish people, then do yourself a favour and Surrender to Spain with Casey.”

    Trish Shee

    Surrender to Spain, 2026

“If you get the opportunity, take a trip with Biznaga. Casey shares her knowledge, her contacts and her love for Spain like a mother duck caring for her family but with the touch of a prima ballerina and a master psychologist. Everything is well planned, with plans B &C at the ready if circumstances change, done with laughter and generosity of spirit. I have never experienced such magic in a trip, mostly with people unknown to me, but who were all fun to be with and different from me. It was sublime in every way and very memorable in all the best ways.”

    Gillian Swinnerton

    Surrender to Spain , 2026

“Our Surrender to Spain trip with Casey from Biznaga was nothing short of sensational. It turned out to be one of my BEST holidays ever. (And I have done a lot!)

The food, the wine, the interesting places we visited and excursions we went on and best of all the hilarious group made it memorable. Already put my hand up for her next trip in 2026. Can’t wait!”

    Got a Question?

When is this experience, and how long is it?

20 to 27 June 2027. Eight unhurried days, starting and ending in Menorca.

    What's included in the price?
    • Personally hosted throughout by Casey Merwood, founder of Biznaga
    • An intimate group of just 10 women
    • Seven nights at Es Bec d’Àguila, the finca entirely ours
    • Your own luxurious room with ensuite (single share only, no single supplement)
    • All meals, snacks, tea/coffee and non-alcoholic beverages

    • Welcome ceremony and personal travel journal
    • All activity equipment, entry fees and tastings
    • A donation to the Menorcan Preservation Society
    • All applicable Spanish and tourist taxes
    How does payment work?

    A 30% non-refundable deposit secures your place.

A progress payment of 30% is due on 1 December 2026-

The final 40% due on 1 March 2027.

If you book after 1 January 2027, a 50% deposit secures your place, with the remaining 50% due on 1 March 2027.

If you’d rather not think about it, you can also spread your balance as a fixed monthly instalment by direct debit, simply let us know and we’ll set it up so it’s taken care of quietly in the background.

    Can you book my flights?

Yes, we’re very happy to organise your flights for you. Alternatively, ask us for the details you’ll need to pass on to your travel agent.

We recommend spending at least a few days beforehand to acclimitise to the time zone (ask us for ideas!).

You will need to arrive into Menorca in time for our 20 June welcome at 4pm. We will check out of the finca at 10am on 27 June.

If you need to get home quickly, there are afternoon flights out of Barcelona on 27 June, but why hurry? Spend a few more days!

Should I arrive early or stay on after the trip?

    We’d recommend it.

We suggest starting in Barcelona and spending a few days there before flying on to Menorca.

If you’d like to explore somewhere else in Spain, before or after, that’s exactly our expertise. We’d love to create a special trip just for you to add on to this one, just let us know what you’re drawn to.

Do I need to be fit or a strong swimmer?

This is an active holiday, though the pace is gentle by design, nothing strenuous or competitive.

Expect swimming, snorkelling, walking on uneven ground and a coastal yoga session. If you’re reasonably active and comfortable in the water, you’ll be completely at ease.

What's the weather like, and what should I pack?

June in Menorca is warm and easy, days around 26 degrees, dropping to about 18 overnight, with the sea at its most inviting. Bring a light jacket for the evenings, but otherwise think warm all the way through.

There’s no strict dress code, just whatever makes you feel beautiful. Smart casual for our special experiences, activewear for the days we’re out on the water or exploring, plenty of swimmers and resort wear, and easy, casual pieces for when we’re back at the finca. And a small tip, you’ll want to sneak down and make a cuppa to take back to bed most mornings, so it might be worth packing pyjamas you actually love.

How many women will be there? Can I come on my own?

Just 10 women. Small enough that you’ll know everyone properly by the end of the week, and Es Bec d’Àguila is entirely ours for the whole stay.

And yes, you are most welcome to come on your own – most women do. Every guest has her own room, so travelling solo costs nothing extra. There’s no single supplement.

Is Casey there the whole time?

Yes. This is Casey’s signature journey, and she’s with you throughout, from the welcome ceremony to the final evening (though she’s known to sneak off to bed early every now and again!)

    What's your cancellation policy?

You may cancel your booking by giving us written notice. Refunds are calculated from the date we receive your notice, less the following cancellation fees:

    • More than 90 days before departure: loss of deposit and any instalments paid
